President’s Message

It is a matter of great honour and responsibility to serve as the President of the Police Families Welfare Society (PFWS). I assume this role with humility, dedication, and a firm resolve to build upon the strong foundation laid by our esteemed predecessors. Through sustained commitment and collective effort, PFWS continues to reach new milestones – launching meaningful initiatives, strengthening our community, and placing the welfare of Delhi Police personnel and their families at the heart of all our endeavours. Having had the privilege of working closely with PFWS over the years, I draw upon my experience and understanding to contribute effectively to the well-being of our extended police family.

Women’s Empowerment and Skill Development

A key focus of PFWS has been women’s empowerment and financial independence. To uplift the morale and enthusiasm of PFWS’s workforce, wages for handcrafted products by our talented ladies across 14 Welfare Centres in Delhi have been enhanced. Simultaneously, marketing channels have been strengthened to ensure that their work receives wider recognition and visibility. These products—including garments, jackets, women’s accessories, potlis, clutches, condiments, pickles, organic soaps, candles, embroidered tea and dinner napkins, runners, hand towels, and more—reflect their skill, creativity, and dedication. These products are regularly showcased and sold through three PFWS Swayam outlets in Delhi, as well as at malls, Dilli Haat, various festive melas, the Blind School Mela, and other exhibitions. For the first time, PFWS participated in the India International Trade Fair, 2025, and also showcased products at the German Embassy Market, Chanakyapuri, and Central Park, Connaught Place. These efforts enhance visibility and create greater income-generating opportunities, fostering confidence and financial independence among women of the Delhi Police family. Skill development remains central to our mission. PFWS regularly conducts basic and advanced stitching classes, computer courses, grooming workshops, and vocational sessions. These initiatives empower women with confidence, enhance their skills, and enable them to become self-reliant members of their families and society.

Learning, Career Guidance, and Personality Development

PFWS continues to empower families through initiatives that nurture learning, confidence, and personal growth. In association with Delhivery Limited, a Book Donation Drive was successfully organized, through which thousands of books were distributed to Delhi Police Public Schools and Delhi Police Libraries across various districts and units. This initiative not only fosters a culture of reading but also marks a significant step toward shaping a brighter future for our children. Self-grooming and personality development workshops, conducted at many of our welfare centres in association with Lakmé India Limited, have strengthened women’s confidence and equipped them with skills for self-employment. Additionally, regular online sessions guide students in exploring diverse career options and making informed decisions about their future academic and career paths. Together, these initiatives highlight PFWS’s ongoing commitment to nurturing talent within the Delhi Police family.

Health and Wellness

An empowered woman is the foundation of a strong family and a progressive society. With this vision, PFWS prioritizes wellness through regular health check-ups and preventive care camps, organised in association with reputed hospitals across all Welfare Centres. These initiatives include cancer screening programmes focused on early detection and timely care, ensuring better health and well-being for families. Additional wellness initiatives, such as Zumba classes at New Police Lines and Malviya Nagar, yoga classes at various welfare centres, and harmonium and dholak training at Vikaspuri and Begumpur have been warmly received by our families and contribute positively to their physical and emotional well-being.

Special Initiatives

Among our notable achievements, the Kiran Centre for children with special needs at New Police Lines, Kingsway Camp, is equipped with modern facilities and shall open very soon. This initiative aims to support these children and their families, positively impacting numerous lives and reflecting PFWS’s compassionate vision. PFWS also observed Autism Awareness Day at Smita Therapy Centre, Malviya Nagar, promoting inclusion and recognising the dedication of the therapists and staff at the centre. The Sutra Embroidery Centre at Model Town, inaugurated on 2nd January 2026, provides women with advanced training in embroidery techniques. Equipped with modern machines, it enables participants to master high-level techniques, create finely crafted embroidered products—including tea and dinner napkins, runners, and hand towels—and develop entrepreneurial skills. The centre empowers them to showcase their talent, pursue sustainable livelihoods, and gain confidence and recognition. The products created here have received wide appreciation.

Youth Development and Sports

Mission Olympics provides children from Delhi Police families with a platform to nurture and showcase their sporting talents. Coaching in badminton and volleyball has been expanded to locations like Malviya Nagar, increasing accessibility and fostering a spirit of excellence, teamwork, and perseverance. So far, our Mission Olympics players have secured an impressive total of 419 medals across international, national, and state-level competitions, showcasing their exceptional talent, dedication, and the far-reaching impact of the program.

Recreational and Community Engagement Initiatives

PFWS has also organized excursion picnics for families at Sunder Nursery and Amrit Udyan, providing them with a relaxing opportunity to unwind from their daily routines. The initiative was met with an enthusiastic response from the families, reflecting their appreciation and enjoyment of these activities.

Looking Ahead

With these initiatives and many more in the pipeline, PFWS remains committed to expanding our efforts and enhancing the quality of life for every member of the Delhi Police family. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all past PFWS Presidents whose vision and leadership have shaped PFWS into the strong and vibrant organization that it is today.

Together, we move forward—stronger, more empowered, and more committed than ever.
