International Yoga Day

Police Families Welfare Society has been observing and celebrating the International Day of Yoga on 21st of June every year. To mark the day, today on 21.06.2020, the International Day of Yoga was celebrated at office of the President, PFWS, 17, MTC, New Delhi along with 10 Welfare Centres namely Ahata Kidara, Dwarka, Jagatpuri, Malviya Nagar, Model Town, Narela, New Police Lines, Pitampura, Shalimar Bagh and Vikaspuri at 0700 hours. Considering the pandemic of Corona Virus and following social distancing norms, limited number of Team Leaders, officers and family members attended the programme. An online yoga session through web conferencing was also conducted by Inspector Yoga, PFWS for the Delhi Police personnel and their family members. Smt. Pratima Shrivastava, President, PFWS, Sh. Asif Mohd. Ali, Secretary, PFWS and Addl. DCP-I, New Delhi District along-with Team Leaders participated in the event at 17, MTC, New Delhi. The Yoga sessions at the 10 Welfare Centres were attended by 15 Delhi Police family members at each Welfare Centre. All the sessions were conducted by duly following social distancing norms. 135 participants also joined the online yoga session through web conferencing. During the session ‘Yog-Asanas’ and ‘Pranayams’ were demonstrated by trained yoga instructor which was gracefully replicated by the participants.  It was a wonderful session where the participants learnt about the benefits of yoga and ways to strengthen their immune system to fight corona virus by practicing yoga regularly.
