Inauguration of New Welfare Centre @ Jyoti Nagar

Police Families Welfare Society (PFWS) strives for the welfare of families of Delhi Police personnel. To reach out to the families and render services to them, the PFWS has 10 Welfare Centers across the city.  As a part of its continuing activities, a new welfare center was inaugurated on 08.09.2020 by Smt. PratimaShrivastava, President, PFWS at Police Colony Jyoti Nagar, North-East District, Delhi.  The function was graced by Special Guests Mrs. Nahid Sultana and Mrs. Smita Kaumudi, wives of senior police officers of CRPF, JT.CP/Eastern Range, DCP/Welfare, DCP & Addl.DCP/North East District, Team Leaders and family members of police colonies. The President PFWS formally inaugurated the welfare center followed by a traditional lamp lighting ceremony. It was followed by presentation of a cultural show by the residents of Police Colony Jyoti Nagar. The Special Guests were felicitated with gift hampers and mementoes.

On the occasion, President, PFWS released the 2nd edition of quarterly PFWS Newsletter pertaining to the months from June to Aug, 2020. It was followed by a prize distribution ceremony of Khana Khazana and Summer Camp. Mrs. Nishi Singh was also felicitated with a special prize by the President PFWS for her participation in Musical Star Contest.

The Chief Guest of the event, Smt. Pratima Shrivastava, President PFWS in her address emphasized on providing Skill development training, coaching for competitive exams, recreational activities, medical & summer camps, cookery classes, etc. through the welfare centre to the ladies and children of police families and helping them to become self-independent. Various products prepared by PFWS including best quality condiments, candles, handicrafts, etc. will also be available for sale at the welfare centre at reasonable prices. She also thanked the special guests for giving their valuable time to PFWS as judges of Khana Khazana competition. It was announced that terracotta pottery Skill Centre shall be shortly opened at the centre in collaboration with UP Institute of Design.
