On 24.06.2018, Yoga Day has been celebrated by Police Families Welfare Society at NPL Parade Ground, Delhi at 0700 hrs. Families and wards of police personnel from different police colonies, scattered all over Delhi, were mobilized to the venue for a participation in the Yoga Day celebrations. The police wards enrolled in six sports disciplines under ‘PFWS Mission Olympics’ also participated in the Yoga Day celebrations. The Chief Guest of the program was Smt. Suchana Patnaik, President,PFWS . Ms. Koyal Rana, Miss India-2014 graced the program as a ‘Special Invitee’. 500 participants from Police families attended yoga day.Inspr.Satyavir Singh Naulakha, yoga instructor of Delhi Police conducted the Yoga with 25 trainers. A total of 18 ‘Yog-Asanas’ and 6 ‘Pranayams’ apart from warm-up and loosing exercise were demonstrated and replicated. The special invitee was welcomed and felicitated by the Chief Guest. President, PFWS Mrs Suchana Patnaik shared her vision regarding Yoga and the benefits of practicing Yoga on daily basis. This will enhance health and reduce the chance of diseases. The special invitee Ms. Koyal Rana stressed on the Patanjali quote “Sthiram Sukham Asanam” i.e. “Be comfortable in any position is Aasana”. She was impressed with the efforts of the PFWS in promoting Yoga activities and also emphasized that everyone should become a role model to motivate Yoga.
